About
I am an MSc student at the University of Edinburgh, currently writing up my thesis on legal positivism in international criminal law. My MSc specialisations are in Ethics and Embodied Cognition.
I am interested in the relationship between ethics, political authority, and law. I have written on the problem of political obligation and how I think moral constructivism can be used to understand the notion of political obligation. My current thesis is an attempt to give an account of legal obligation in international criminal law using the legal positivist position known by Dr. Richard Holton as 'moral attitude positivism'. I am particularly interested in the notion of legal authority as distinct from moral authority, and what this means for a transcendent legal system on a global scale.
