David (PhD, Syd) is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He used to teach at Charles Stuart University and Sydney College of Divinity in Sydney, Australia.
He has written three books and several articles as well as conference papers, such as 'Intercultural Transmisstion in the Medieval Mediterranean', 'The Thomasine Logia; The Genesis of a Jesus Tradition', 'Who Authorised You?: Mary and Her Public Actions in Thomas', ‘What Shall We Do?: The Community Rules of Thomas in the ‘Fifth Gospel’, ‘Revivals Awaken Generations’, ‘the Wind-Blowing Desert: Thomasine Scholarship’, and several book reviews for the Journal of Religious History.
His teaching and research include the areas of NT, early Christianity, Nag Hammadi Literature, Gospel of Thomas, Coptic language, Gnosticism, Dead Sea Scrolls, Q tradition, Apostolic Fathers' writtings, Religions in Late Antiquity, History of Religions, and Asian Religions.
The project for a ‘Coptic Dictionary of Nag Hammadi Library’ is another one of his recent research activities.
