I am a civil engineer by training and I teach and do research on structural technology in the conservation of historic buildings and modern design practice. Research in the structural performance of historic fabric can determine further historic, artistic and cultural values that can enrich the modern architectural environment and their transmission depends on adequate technology to preserve and enhance such values.
