About
My research interests concern the cooperation among the Italian polities and the relations between them and the Holy Roman Emperors. In particular I focus on the Lombard League and the legacy of the Peace of Constance. I am publishing a book examining the Lombard League from its creation in 1164-7 to 1225 and I am now working on a monograph concerning the second Lombard League, its clash with Emperor Frederick II, its involvement in the crusades against Christian lay powers and its legacy in the 14th century.
