About
Broadly, my work concerns hermeneutics. In my doctoral thesis I have principally engaged Heidegger’s ontology and its use in Gadamer’s theory of human understanding. I have attempted to expose features of their accounts to revision by incorporating the wider habits of human understanding evident in the global reception of Christianity. To that end I have investigated normative habits of understanding the world, including ‘orthodox’ reading practices, attending particularly to their cultural transformations.
