About
My research broadly examines the relationship between globalization, climate change and energy policy in sub-state regions across Western Europe. How and why do sub-state regions engage in international relations? What factors can account for sub-state regional diplomacy on climate change? In the case of Scotland, what if anything about globalization can explain the Scottish Government's involvement in transnational organizations like the Climate Group? In a plural world, where the influence of non-state actors rivals that of elected officials, prospects for a greener and low-to-no carbon future may rely on the capacity of both public and private actors to cooperatively address complex global challenges on a sub-state regional scale.
