About
Vicky Horne is a PhD Candidate at The University of Edinburgh currently working on a research thesis under the supervision of Dr Angela Dimitrakaki. The thesis explores the intersections between feminism, politics, and art-historical writing. Vicky previously graduated with a BA Joint Honours from Queen’s University Belfast on 2008 and, in 2009, completed an MA in History of Art at The University of Manchester. Previous research at MA level was completed under he supervision of Amelia Jones and explored issues of identity and historiography in the Lynn Hershman/Roberta Breitmore archive at Manchester’s Whitworth Art Gallery.
In 2010/11, Vicky was a representative for The University of Edinburgh at the Leverhulme-funded international research group ‘Transnational Perspectives on Women’s Art, Feminism and Curating’. From January – July 2012, Vicky is co-organising an academic reading group/online lecture series with two other members of Edinburgh’s History of Art department: ‘Reading Marx’s Capital with David Harvey’.
